The New Mexico Electric Cooperative Technology Exchange was formed in 2011. We had our first official meeting on August 19, 2011 focusing on Security and SCADA systems.
Since then, we have continued to meet on a semi-annual or annual basis, discussing topics that are of importance and a concern to the cooperatives that we encompass.
Ed Burkhart has been President of NMECTE since it's inception in 2011. He has been the IT Manager at Central New Mexico Electric Cooperative since 2011.
Jason Hand has been Vice-President of NMECTE since being elected in October, 2022. He is the IT Specialist at Central New Mexico Electric Cooperative.
Cheryl Gililland has been Treasurer of NMECTE since being elected in Spring of 2025. She is in charge of IT at Otero Electric Cooperative.
Jason Hand has been Secretary of NMECTE since being elected in October, 2022. He is the IT Manager at Farmers Electric Cooperative.
